Alice[1] Atley[]

Atley

Bitty and Professor Atley

Professor at Samwell University. Instructor for WGSS120 / HIST376: Women, Food, & American Culture[2] and head of the Department of American History.[3] Becomes Eric Bittle's adviser when Bitty chooses American Studies as a major.[1] She listens to Bitty about everything not just his thesis[4][5] and asks him about Jack.[6] When talking to a colleague about Jack's NHL career, Professor Atley mentions how Jack was in class with Bitty and how great it is that Bitty kept in touch with him. To hide his romantic relationship with Jack, Bitty overexcitedly agrees that its great.[7] Atley is stated to know more French than Bitty.

During the spring semester of Bitty's senior year, Atley joins the hockey team in staging an intervention to force Bitty to write his thesis. Having notified every kitchen on campus and spoken to the Coaching Staff, Atley states that if Bitty doesn't at least turn in a draft, he will not be allowed to play in the playoffs. Though Bitty protests that he did turn in a draft, Atley states that the pie Bitty baked doesn't count. She also approved the flyer sent around campus warning everyone not to let Bitty into the student kitchens.[3]
